This information should answer the most common questions regarding COVID-19. A more detailed guideline is being developed and will be distributed shortly. Please be aware, that local regulations can change quickly – we will keep you updated!

Entry into Austria

The tournament is considered a professional reason to travel / business purpose. Therefore you are allowed to travel to Graz and you are exempt from the quarantine requirement.

Before traveling to Austria, you have to register for a pre-travel-clearance online (at, more details will follow in the guideline). You have to do this even if you already have a valid Visa!

When entering Austria, you need to show a medical certificate or proof of a negative test for SARS-CoV-2 in German or English language (not older than 48 hours for antigen-tests and not older than 72 hours for molecular biological / PCR tests).

Please note that in Austria it is mandatory to wear FFP2 masks in all indoor areas (hotel, shops, sports hall, plain, train, bus, tram, etc).

During the tournament

Venue: Social distance of at least 2 meter should be kept between everybody in the venue. Nobody has the permission to enter the venue except players and their coaches for their match time (including warm-up and cool-down time).

Food: You can get food at the hotel or at several take-away restaurants in walking distance.

Regular Testing: Screening tests (antigen-tests) will be organized during the tournament and will be mandatory for entry into the venue (details will follow in the guideline). These tests will be free for players and technical officials and provided to team officials (coaches, etc.) for a fee.

Positive tests: If a person tests positive the further procedure is decided by the local health authorities (e.g. further tests, isolation, treatment, etc.).

Please be aware: The interpretation of tests as well as the determination of actions to be taken are not done by the organizers, but by the local authorities!

Accreditation: All participants (including officials, coaches, etc.) will have to be accredited before you can enter the venue. This includes committing to the preventative measures at the tournament by signing an agreement. An online pre-registration will be possible, details will follow.

Home trip

Please check your local requirements for travelers coming from Austria! It is possible to get a COVID test (antigen-test or PCR-test) for a fee in case you need it for your travel.


Should the event be cancelled on short notice, due to reasons beyond the control of both Badminton Europe and the organizers, neither of them will be liable for any costs related to traveling or accommodation incurred by participants of this event.

It is strongly recommended that you book flight tickets with cancellation insurance.
